Why Christians Should Stop Judging Celebrities

2016 was the year where many celebrities talked about faith, God and Jesus. Usually the only time you would hear a celebrity talk about God is after they’ve accepted an award for an Oscar or a Grammy, but 2016 was different. Many celebrities started to be more vocal about their beliefs and faith, they started to talk about ‘Jesus’ on social media, in interviews and to co-workers. Some of them posted weekly bible scriptures to their millions of followers on Instagram or Twitter. Unfortunately, even though some celebs show their beliefs boldly at the risk of losing fans, some Christians act like they have a patent to Jesus’s love and they’re the only ones who can call themselves Christians.

Did you know @torikelly is a Christian?

We reported that Justin Bieber was baptised, we reported that he’s reading the bible and going to church regularly, we reported that he sang a Christian song in-front of thousands of fans in Paris, but some Christians still say he isn’t a Christian and he isn’t saved enough. To a certain degree they’re totally right, he isn’t saved enough but that’s why there’s grace. Everyone falls short but grace is there. Who are we to condemn someone and say “they’re not saved” or “they’re not a Christian” when ‘there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus’ (Romans 8:1). We believe everyone has a starting point in their walk and just because they haven’t reached a maturity in their faith, gives us no right to condemn them.¬†You don’t knock down a recovering alcoholic because you see him have another drink, you help him recover and quit the addiction.

For those who condemn people because they sing or rap about a girl, I want you to read ‘The Songs of Solomon’ this book in the bible will surprise you.

To those who think he can’t be a Christian because he sometimes does unchristian things, let me introduce you to King David. David was a man after God’s own heart. While he was a man after God’s own heart, he slept with a married woman, got her pregnant and to cover up his sin he killed the husband.

We are so committed to throwing people out of heaven, most people wont bother with this Jesus guy they hear so much about, because as soon as they slip up or start their walk we kick them out like King Leonidas.
