Game Of Thrones Prequel On The Way

HBO Orders Pilot for ‘Game of Thrones’ Prequel From Jane Goldman and George R.R. Martin.

Game of Thrones‘s final season may be airing next year, but HBO is far from done with the stories of Westeros.

Variety reports that HBO ordered a pilot for a Game of Thrones prequel series, which is one of five prequels in development. This prequel comes from Jane Goldman and famed Game of Thrones‘ author George R.R. Martin. Goldman, who wrote Kick-Ass and the Kingsman series, will be running the show as the teleplay writer and showrunner. Both Goldman and Martin will serve as executive producers along with GOT executive producer Vince Gerardis and Daniel Zelman.

The prequel’s description is reportedly as follows: “Taking place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: From the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend…it’s not the story we think we know.”

It’ll likely be a while before the prequel is available for you to watch.
