Chance The Rapper Donates $1 Million

Chance The Rapper has donated $1 Million to mental health services in Chicago.

Chance has built a reputation for being really charitable and has expressed how much he likes to give back to his community. Now he has his eyes set on helping those who require mental health assistance and has donated 1$ million to support Chicago mental health resources in the city.

Yesterday at the second annual SocialWorks Summit (Oct. 4), the hometown hero spoke to hundreds of Chi-town citizens and viewers worldwide via Periscope about his charitable efforts with the organization.

“We need a new space where people can get information on how they feel, on where to go and a network for us to interact and review our mental health spaces, and create a community of people helping people,” he began. “So I’m proud to announce that I’m pledging one million dollars towards mental health services in Chicago.”

Speaking on behalf of himself and SocialWorks, Chance added, “We want to change the way that mental health resources are being accessed by you.”

This isn’t the first time Chance The Rapper has donated a huge amount of money like this. In March 2017, the humanitarian gave away $1 million to Chicago Public Schools. The Chicago Bulls ended up matching the donation a few weeks later.
